1) Ensure that the requirements of the Code of Safe Working Practices as well as those contained in the

Company’s Policies on Health, Safety and environment are complied with a view to improve the

standard of safety consciousness of the shipboard staff

2) Ensure that every Accident / Hazardous Occurrence and all potential hazards to occupational health

and safety are investigated following which recommendations shall be made to the Master such that

recurrence is prevented and the hazard is removed. However these investigations shall not extend to

accidents arising from a casualty to the vessel
