再这么吃，会吃出“水桶腰”的。

这是我们最常见的“吃货”英语口语练习。“不会”或者“忘了”foodie这个单词，你就不会说英语“吃货”，更谈不上运用和英语“造句”。而且，我们严重依赖中文作为英语学习的“理解语言”，见到foodie只能说出中文“吃货”外，不知英语foodue的“英语”是什么。

2) 说“吃货词义”表述法：

你可以不会说“吃货”(foodie)这个英语单词，但你可以用英语把foodie的“意思”说出来，对方一样知道你在交流foodie的意思，一样可以实现“语言交流和沟通”的目的。这也是“用英语学英语能力”的重要训练。

1. 阅读改变英语：

The newly published book 'The Official Foodie Handbook' covers the lives of food lovers around the world. They were food adventure seekers, someone who was interested in all food experiences, a person who was very, very, very interested in food."

读了前面的英语，我们可以做“词义表述”：

1a.Well, foodie is a food seeker.Foodie is someone who is interested in all food experiences. Someone who is very, very, very interested in food. We call this person a foodie.

你不用说foodie这个词，对方一样知道你在说foodie的意思：

1b. Well, you know ,I am a food lover.I am a food seeker.I am very very very interested in all food experiences.

对方怎么想：

Then you must be a foodie.

这就是语言沟通的能力给我们“半桶水”英语在外旅游时带来的交流帮助。

不一定非要死记foodie才能告诉对方你要说foodie的。

2. 再读英语改变英语：

The word ‘foodie,’ which is nothing more than a modern-day replacement for ‘gourmet,’ has been relegated to mean anyone who likes food and/or eats out a lot,someone who just cannot afford to miss out those meals on the table.

英语口语：

2a.Well,got you.A foodie is a gourmet(美食家).

So ,can we call a foodie a gourmet, or a gourmet a foodie?

2b. Well,you know I love food and eating out a lot.I just don't want to miss out those food.

学习英语时，让我们接触到的某个英语(如foodie)和其它“英语”(gourmet)发生“联系”从而直接获得“英语理解英语”，而不是和中文“吃货”发生“联系”，从而获得“中文理解英语”，或许才是我们更需要训练自己获得的重要语言能力。
